Canote E-Notes 12/27/13

MEXICO
We have arrived in Del Rio, TX safe and sound.  Praise the Lord!

We survived a HUGE supply run at the Sam's Club in Abilene, TX this morning.

Tomorrow (Saturday) includes a long day of at least two trips across the border with supplies, a final WalMart run, and some base camp set up.

Thank you for your prayers for us and our ministry teams this week! We have some on our host team who have been battling nasty colds:  Chewy, Nicky Blue Eyes, and Tori.  Our ministry teams will be traveling Saturday and Sunday to arrive at camp Sunday evening.

We're counting on your prayer support and trusting in God this week!  We're also believing many in Acuña, Mexico will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus as a result of this significant Kingdom building ministry.

Canote E-Notes 12/16/13

On the road again!

Wow!  What a grand adventure it is to chase hard after God, trusting in His big ole plan!  We are so very blessed and honored to serve Him in the many ministry opportunities He places before us.

It's time once again to head south of the border for a Team Ministry Outreach in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico.  Our Canote family host team of 14, including a couple of extra volunteers, will be leaving Casa Canote for this trip at noon on Christmas Day.  Our ministry teams will be working Mon-Fri, Dec. 30-Jan. 3.  We'll be back Sunday, Jan. 5.

Chewy's girlfriend, Kaleigh Monnig and Alex's girlfriend Kelly Mckernan will both be travelling and serving with us in Mexico for their first time on the mission field.  Naturally, they are both pretty excited about getting to be part of this significant Kingdom ministry. And, of course, we always love dragging our friends down to Mexico with us!

There will be a total of 70 of us including our family, volunteer staff, and the ministry teams.  We have a team of 46 from Cornerstone UMC in Caledonia, Michigan and a local Missouri team of 10 from Perche Baptist Church.

As always, it's a long trip with so many logistics which need to come together.  Satan is already tossing fiery darts our way but that's nothing new.  It's all good because God is on our side AND that's how we know He has big plans for this ministry!

Please keep us and our ministry teams in your prayers.  We are so thankful for that and rely on it.  Your role as support and prayer team is critical and significant!  Thank you and God bless you!

We'll be looking forward to telling the story of how God showed up big to work in and through us to accomplish much as we take the greatest story ever told to the people of Ciudad Acuña, Mexico!

Canote E-Notes 07/23/13

Home Sweet Home

The Canote family is home, safe and sound.  It was a long trip and at times may have been a bit of an endurance test but we are none the worse for the wear.  PTL!  God is good and faithful to His promises.

We prayed all week with our ministry teams that we would finish well with a mucho grande Kingdom harvest.  God heard our prayers, showed up big, and accomplished much in and through us.

As usual, Satan didn’t want us representing the King in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico this last week and did toss a few fiery darts our way.  However, we had the King of Kings on our side...we were packin' heat!  The Gospel message of Jesus Christ shined and powered through and 152 new believers came to a saving knowledge of Jesus!  PTL and hallelujah!

To our ministry support team:  thank you, Thank You, and THANK YOU!  May God bless your socks off for your significant role in this Kingdom ministry!  God bless you for your prayers, your support, your friendship, and for holding the rope!  We can't do what we do without you.  We need you and thank God for you.

We were able to secure ministry dates for our next two trips to Acuña as follows:

Dec. 29, 2013 - Jan. 4, 2014

AND

July 13, 2014 - July 19, 2014

We are super blessed and excited to already have teams lined up for both weeks.  HOWEVER, we certainly have plenty of room for more!  Please let us know if you are considering joining us on the field in the cross-cultural ministry effort.  We would love to tell you all about it.  There are options for how you might participate.  Shoot us some questions so we can help you make an informed decision.

Canote E-Notes 07/17/13

UPDATE:

All is well on the mission field this week in Acuña, Mexico.  God is good & blessing our socks off as we join Him in His ministry this week.  We have had the usual obstacles to deal with.  However, God has been faithful and is overcoming each and certainly with us as we power through.  Sometimes that means a white-knuckle grip holding fast to God's promises.  Please continue to pray for us.  We have a shortage of translators this week.  It has been pretty cool to see how God's Spirit can speak through us.  In spite of the fiery darts Satan may have tossed our way, we have still seen 90+ Salvation decisions already this week!  Woo hoo and PRAISE THE LORD!

Canote E-Notes 07/08/13

Mexico

It's the final countdown for blast off to Acuña, Mexico for a week of team ministry. We are down to less than 48 hours to get 1.2 million things done.  That's no hill for climbers... and praise the Lord we ARE climbers!  Besides that, as Christians, we're packin' heat on account of the Holy Spirit of the Creator of this big ole universe straight up resides within us!

Prayer Requests:

  • Guidance, direction, & sensitivity to the leading of God's Spirit
  • Strength and courage for a week of endurance. The heat will be a significant factor physically for all of us
  • Faith to follow God wherever and whenever He leads us
  • Open & receiving hearts in the people to whom we and our ministry teams will be ministering to

God bless you and thank you for your encouragement and prayers!

We're counting on them!

Canote E-Notes 06/28/13

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58

Greetings!

First things first, we must get some very important information delivered.  It is official:   We got promoted.  We. Are. Grandparents!  And what a huge blessing and honor that promotion is!  PTL!  On May 28, 2013, Mr. Carter Nathaniel Carey arrived on the scene, adding another little St. Louis Cardinals fan to the mix.

Ministry
God has kept our ministry calender full of late with youth and children's church camps, music performances, home church activities, etc.  Then it's off to Mexico.  As soon as we get back, there'll be another children's camp for Chris (preaching) and JP (worship).  Chris is preaching revival services this fall in Clifton Hill, MO then the next thing you know it will be Christmas and time to head to Mexico again!

Mexico
It's a little crazy up in here at Casa Canote as we are winding down the final days before we pile into the van and head south to Acuña, Mexico for a week of Team Ministry with YUGO.  We are super excited to be hosting 5 teams!  Woo hoo!  We also already have a couple teams lining up for the New Year's Team Ministry in December/January.

Prayer Requests:
  • SO MUCH must come together in the way of travel & logistics to pull off the ministry in Acuña.  It's an opportunity for Satan to toss fiery darts our way.
  • There are always last minute unplanned expenses such as the brake job on the van scheduled for next week.  Please pray with us a prayer of thanks that God will meet all of our needs.  Please also ask God if He would have you contribute financially specifically for this ministry project and respond to His lead accordingly.
  • These summer trips are certainly no vacation!  They are an endurance test for each of us physically.  We will be outside for most of the week in 100F heat.  Please pray for stamina not only for the new grandparents but our kiddos as well.
We are so very blessed and honored to serve an awesome God who has provided a support team to hold us up in prayer.  God bless YOU and thank you in advance for your prayers as we serve on the mission field in Acuña, Mexico.

Our actual travel dates will be July 10-22.  The days of ministy in Mexico are July 15-19.

Canote E-Notes 04/12/13

"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.  He will take great delight in you;  in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."  ~ Zephaniah 3:17

Well Hello!!
Long time no talk.  First, let us apologize for the lack of communication lately.  We have been as busy as ever and we must confess, we have let communication get put on the back burner.  We will endeavor to do a better job in the future.

We HAVE been as busy as ever...but to be fair, that is nothing new for us!  Chris is still serving as pastor of our home church which puts him in the pulpit preaching every Sunday.  And, we jump on every opportunity to sing together as a family that we can.

We are enjoying seeing the roles change and parts move around as the kids get older and voices change.  The girls are now getting excited about joining us on-stage.

We are still active with YUGO ministries and will be hosting ministry teams in Acuña, Mexico again this summer as well as over the Christmas break at the end of the year.  We are so excited for the opportunities God gives us to work together as a family for Him.

We have a grandson due in June!! Samantha and Nathan are expecting and we can hardly wait.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  YUGO has changed the frequency of the paper prayer letters that go out, so we will try to get an email out at least once a month.  If you know of someone that would like to be getting our emails, just respond back and we’ll get them on the list.
